The Faith Formation Commission collaborates with the Director of Religious Education to assist in building goals for life-long faith formation opportunities for our parishioners. The Commission’s role is advisory in nature; however, our members are very active in seeking religious education opportunities for all ages and helping to bring them about. Life-long faith formation includes, but is not limited to, sacramental preparation for children and adults, the Sunday Morning children’s religious education program, Bible studies, parish retreats, Vacation Bible School, as well as other programs and events planned with deanery parishes. The commission meets on the first Monday of each month.

The Church exists in order to evangelize, because Christ gave to His Church the mission to proclaim the Good News. Evangelization consists of proclaiming the Kingdom of God and salvation for all people through Christ Jesus, which through the power of the Holy Spirit, transforms humanity from within and makes it new. The Evangelization Team strives to learn about evangelization and how to empower our parishioners to more comfortable and effectively become the message as well as to share the message of God's love.

Our parish offers study groups a variety of opportunities for parishioners to deepen their understanding of God’s Word. Participants study on their own. When they gather, texts, DVD presentations and other media aid them in their sharing insights and explanations of the subtleties that readers might not otherwise understand.

Catechists provide learning for our children and youth (and adults through the RCIA, Bible Study, etc.) so that all may grow in our faith. Catechists are especially important for our children, preschool through 8th grade. This ministry allows individuals the privilege and responsibility of sharing their knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, their Catholic faith with our children.

Our Sunday Morning Religious Education Program is a means of teaching and forming the children of our parish. While the children who typically participate in the program are elementary and middle school students who attend public schools, we welcome any child.
Preparing our children for the sacraments is an important part of the program. Ultimately, we hope that this formation will encourage our young people to become active members of the parish community. The program runs from September through late April on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:45. Each month, throughout the educational year, selected classes have the opportunity to participate in the Sunday liturgy—filling roles as lectors, greeters, gift bearers, and singers in the children’s choir.

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults functions to form and inform adults—those who are unbaptized or those who are baptized Christians, but are not Catholic—in the Catholic Faith and prepare them for full initiation in the Church. St. Margaret Mary, St. Patrick, Sacred Heart and St. Benedict parishes together provide this opportunity to potential parishioners.
